It’s too early in the morning for the Bobs
Big day today. I have several constituencies to please: homework to finish, a flyer to make about a rally to support local workrs, and a pie to bake for the potluck this afternoon. But I’m ready for it.
I saw a family of raccoons walking across a path on campus last night. And there was an amazing beautiful pastel-pink and orange sunrise this morning.
That’s all, really.

The Bobs, like the weird music group, or something else?

Yes, the weird music group. They came on the radio on the bike shuttle ride this morning (circa 7:20 am), and the shuttle-driver turned them right off, with the aforestated comment.

Have you met a campus shuttle driver named Thomas Zuur? He has long brown hair and a beard. He works at Denali in the summer and there in the winter-i thought it would be neat if that was him :)

Hmmm! Well it wasn’t him in this case — this driver was a woman. I’ll keep my eyes/ears open to meet this guy, though. I don’t know if the bike shuttle and the campus shuttle drivers interchange, but I’ll let you know if I do find him…
(It’s a cool name by the way! Swiss? It’s got a neat hiatus . . . ahh, I’ve been doing too much linguistics already.)

Oh well…let me know if you run into him! And i don’t know the origins of his name…though i think we talked about it once, and i probably just didn’t listen or promptly forgot, as i too often do…

It’s not swiss in origin, it’s dutch. And he does work at UCSC during the winter and Denali in the summer, or at least he use to…it’s been awhile. Glad to hear he grew his hair back out.
